Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will this work for very thick hair?
A: Absolutely! Use the larger opening for thick or very long hair, the smaller one for thinner hair or half-up styles. Kerri (in the photos) has waist-length thick hair and it held beautifully even in the rain.
Q: Is the leather waterproof?
A: It’s naturally water-resistant and the rain photos prove it — a few drops bead right up. For heavy downpours just give it a gentle pat dry and it’s happy again.
Q: Can I choose the stick wood?
A: Each stick is one-of-a-kind from windfall branches on the ranch (buckwheat, juniper, wild plum, etc.). If you have a favorite, let me know in the note to seller and I’ll do my very best!
Q: How do I keep the leather looking gorgeous?
A: Once or twice a year rub in a tiny bit of leather balm, beeswax salve, or even a dab of neatsfoot oil. That’s it — it will darken and soften into something even more beautiful with age.
Q: Is this fragile because it’s “real” leather and wood?
A: Nope! This is the same leather I use for ranch gear — it’s made to live, not just sit on a shelf.
